To help hosts improve their cleaning during COVID-19 and beyond, Dishefs created its five-step enhanced cleaning process. Keeping our space clean has always been a priority for our hosts and guests, but it has become even more critical in recent years, which is why we have set higher cleaning standards.
Based on Dishefs’ cleaning handbook, which was developed in partnership with experts, Dishefs developed the five-step enhanced cleaning process. Our hosts are required to follow a five-step enhanced cleaning process for all their listings between each guest stay. If hosts commit to the cleaning process, their listings will receive a special highlight so guests searching for a place to stay know they’ve agreed to follow Dishefs standard of cleanliness.
Some ways in which you can tell your guests about the extra steps you’re taking are as follows:
Include your cleaning process in your listing description. You can attract guests who prioritize cleanliness by mentioning your commitment to following Dishefs standards.
- Add some details about how you’ve cleaned and sanitized your space according to Dishefs’ 5-step enhanced cleaning process to your listing description. Here are some suggestions:
Based on the cleaning handbook Dishefs developed with experts, I follow Dishefs five-step enhanced cleaning process. Here are some highlights:
- My method of sanitizing high-touch surfaces extends all the way down to the doorknob, appliances buttons, switches
- Cleaners and disinfectants I use are approved by international health agencies, and I wear protective gear to prevent cross-contamination
- The kitchen is thoroughly cleaned using cleaning checklists
- There are extra cleaning supplies available, so you can clean while you cook
- In addition to any safety or cleaning guidelines, I comply with local laws
- Display photos of your sparkling-clean space
- Include information about who cleaned your space and what they did
- Your guests will appreciate knowing that you care just as much about keeping your space clean as they do
- Ensure that you communicate that you have thoroughly cleaned and sanitized your space
- Consider using Dishefs’ saved messages feature to save time
Leave cleaning supplies for your guests, and mention that in your listing description. We’ve heard from guests that they want the ability to clean during their stay. Empower your guests by setting out cleaning supplies they can use, including:
Provide cleaning supplies for your guests, and mention that in your listing description.. Our guests have told us they want to be able to clean during their use of the kitchen. Help them out by providing cleaning supplies, such as:
- Disposable paper towels
- Disposable gloves
- Multi-surface cleaner
- Disinfectant wipes or spray
- Antibacterial hand sanitizer
- Extra hand soap
We do not allow you to claim that your listing is free of Coronaviruses. You can describe your cleaning method, but there’s no way to guarantee that your listing will be virus-free.
- Please do not promote your space as “COVID-free”. In fact, we’re asking hosts to remove any reference to “COVID-19,” “the Coronavirus,” or “quarantine” in their listing titles.
- We also request that you don’t use a lack of hand sanitizer, toilet paper, and other essentials to entice guests.
The five-step enhanced cleaning process at Dishefs helps guests feel comfortable—and ensures you’re doing what you can to support our community’s health and wellness. Thanks again for hosting and being a part of the Dishefs community.
