What is Dishefs- Kitchen Rental?

The construction and maintenance of brick-and-mortar kitchen facilities is a bad investment, for the same reason that building new hotels, or buying a new fleet of taxis, may be unwise in the age of Airbnb and Uber.

The business model followed by Airbnb where people rent out extra rooms in their homes to strangers, could be adopted by commercial kitchen owners too. is where Dishefs comes in. Underused kitchen spaces – whether owned by people or organizations – would be listed on Dishefs’ website, including the size and available equipment in the kitchens. Those in need of such spaces to cook or prepare food could rent them from the website, whether it is by the hour or otherwise.

Homes, churches and various organizations throughout the city have a lot of unused large kitchen spaces. With an Airbnb-style network to link these two parties, both kitchen owners and those in need of such spaces would benefit immensely. Dishefs will help kitchen owners earn extra cash, while also providing cheap space for those who need it.

Churches, social service centers, non-profits, country clubs, restaurants, or even individual homeowners could all be potential landlords. In short, anyone with a seldom-used large, well-resourced, commercial-style kitchen.

For instance, one possible scenario could be, a restaurant that doesn’t open until 5pm could have a baker using the setup from 3am to 8am to bake their goods before that kitchen is up and running for the day.

Among those potentially renting space from Dishefs’ Kitchen Network are food cart owners, aspiring restaurateurs, farmers’ market merchants, and companies producing pre-packaged food, particularly of a niche variety.

Such a site would be very helpful for anyone requiring access to a big kitchen for a few hours, whether to prepare for a football tailgate, a Thanksgiving dinner, or some similar event.
