Make sure your calendar is in order
Calendar management is a big part of hosting—it keeps things convenient for you and your guests.
- Sync all your calendars so you only get rental requests when you’re available
- Set your rate – decide on the minimums/maximums
- Set hours for kitchen usage – decide when guests can check in and out
- Give yourself time to tidy up between reservations
- Dishefs may block your calendar if you don’t provide all the information needed for your account, so make sure everything is correct
Organize guest information
- Make sure to verify your tenant’s ID
- Take the time to get to know your rentees beforehand by checking out their profiles or starting a conversation
- Provide check-in instructions, a neighborhood guide, kitchen rules, contact information, and anything else the rentees may need to get settled and comfortable
Prepare your place
- If you can’t be there, consider self-check-in to ensure access
- Consider providing your guests with some essentials – bottled water, cleaning supplies, a place to clean up after cooking
- Keep some essential laundry handy – a few extra paper towels on hand
- Cleaning and management services are a good idea-many hosts charge a cleaning fee to cover their expenses
